But Where Do Vegans Get Their Protein?

Walnut and mushroom parcels. Gluten free, vegan. Ready to add tomato sauce and bake

Especially at Christmas you often hear, on repeat, from concerned friends and relatives ‘but where do you get your protein‘? My stock response was, and still is, ‘nuts and berries‘. Mostly as a brush off to close the conversation because it gets a bit tedious answering the same question time and again. I do understand that it is of genuine concern or interest to some people but after 20 plus years of the same question I can’t give a perky response every time.

However it is Christmas and generally we go for a full on sit down Christmas dinner. So you might want a meal that contains protein that you can eat as part of a ‘meat and two veg’ meal. And something you can point at when the inevitable question is asked. You will also want a dish that isn’t stuffed peppers. Stuffed peppers make me angry. There is no place for stuffed peppers in this world. So give Walnut and Mushroom Parcels a go. Really, really delicious. I’m not just saying that. They are good. Fabulous with Crispy Roast Potatoes or with a crispy salad. Really, really, good. Try them. You won’t be disappointed.
