It is ccccold outside. Well cold compared to the weather over recent years. Still it is not as cold as the winters when I was a child where we had ice on the inside of our bedroom windows and used to wear dressing gowns and hats to bed. But we didn’t have central heating. That may have been the problem. Colder inside than out.

Anyway what you want when it is cold outside is a super quick,easy and warming meal. Lentil Dahl does the trick. Plus it is delicious and nutritious too. Rather lovely for dinner with plain rice, lime pickle, mango chutney and a poppadom. This recipe excludes onions and garlic which are common to dahl recipes. You won’t miss them here.
