Basics - Perfect Millet. Gluten-free, vegan.

I hope you are well and enjoying your Bank Holiday weekend! It promises to be great weather here (very unusual for a Bank Holiday!). Having done lots (and lots) of very satisfying recipe development I got stuck into a bit of painting (doors not canvases) and now patio laying… Phew!

This week on FriFran I have published….

A great muffin recipe I have had really super feedback on – could it be the chocolate and raspberry combo? Or the delicious richness of muffin? Who knows! However, I do know that Chocolate and Raspberry ‘Goodness’ Muffins go down very well indeed wherever I take them. I hope you like them too.

I do like the adage ‘keep it simple’. Simple things are often the best and the most underrated. If you do simple things really well it sets up everything else you do. In terms of gluten-free | vegan | + plus cooking and baking I think doing really simple dishes, really well, forms the foundation to great food. One of those dishes is the much maligned and under-used millet. Mostly though of as budgie food millet is amazing for so many reasons (easy to cook, nutritious, tastes great). I like Basics – Perfect Millet because it puffs up when it is cooked, s little bit like mini-popcorn… Millet is amazing with rich tomato sauces of curries. Try millet with Chick Peas and Kale in Tamarind Tomato Sauce.

FriFran Resource Library news…

Recently I published a free e-book: 10 Dishes in Under 30 Minutes which is now available for download via the FriFran Resource Library (you should have received your password when you signed up). All the recipes are quick and easy gluten-free | vegan | + plus.

I’ve almost finished more free resources: a great set of recipe cards. They are so cool. They really make me smile. You can find a preview pinned to the top of my Facebook page. All the recipes are totally new and will give you a whole weekend of gluten-free | vegan | + plus recipes.

I promised you the Resource Library will grow and grow over time and it is taking shape :-0 Do tell me your thoughts on the e-book and are there any other titles or ideas you would like to see? I would love to hear from you!
