New FriFran recipes and news! 03 September 2017

Gluten free, vegan squash/ pumpkin tart in sweet almond crust. Served with vegan cream.

I hope you enjoyed the bank holiday weekend (if you are in the UK). A three day weekend is always welcome! We went to Pembrokeshire camping and the weather was much, much better than expected. Unusual for a bank holiday. 😉 I’m not sure it was warm enough for swimming in the sea but we did. Very bracing! But so good to be in the water. 🙂

This week I have been working on recipes and planning for autumn. Autumn is well and truly here in London. Something in the air changes, you can smell it and a gentle haze descends, along with the temperature. Autumn is fabulous and bountiful with amazing fruit and vegetables. My favourite time of the food production year. 

I published the FriFran Seasonal Produce Round-Up which details in-season fruit and vegetables and suggested recipes. Blackberries are so beautiful and delicious. They remind me that summer is waning.

New and exclusive Gluten-Free | Vegan | Allergy-Friendly | Seasonal recipes this week on FriFran…

This week I shared two new recipes that start to take us gently from summer in to autumn.

One of my favourite reworkings of a classic is Gluten-Free, Vegan Fondant Potatoes. They are amazing! I promise you. They are rich, unctuous and decadent (so not for everyday) and a real treat for an autumnal weekend supper. 

I also shared a firm autumn (or anytime squash or pumpkin are in season!) favourite, Gluten Free, Vegan Sweet Squash/ Pumpkin Tart. A perfect treat at the end of a long day with a cup of cocoa! 🙂
